Toyota has launched their second annual Shareathon event during Toyotathon. If you purchase or lease a new Toyota from Toyota of Lewisville before January 3, you could be eligible to win a $500 gift card.
Shoppers who tweet the Shareathon message, are automatically eligible for a certificate or coupon to redeem a $500 pre-paid gift card. However, Toyota has added an extra incentive this year. For every retweet you receive, it adds $50 to your gift card, up to a maximum of $1000. To be eligible for the gift card, you must purchase or lease a new Toyota from Toyota of Lewisville before January 3.
In addition to registering your tweets, users can track their Shareathon tweets and connect with other users. Followers who retweet the message will also be entered to win a brand new Toyota Prius.

Earlier this month, the National Association of Minority Auto Dealers (NAMAD) honored Rene’ Isip with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
When Rene’ began his career in the automotive industry in 1984, he believed his hard work and attention to customer service would lead him to accomplishing a life-long dream of opening his own dealership. Today he owns two dealerships—one in Dallas, one in Houston–and is the Chief Operating Officer of the John Eagle Dealerships.
After 20 years in the business, in April 2004, Rene’ opened his first dealership, Rene’ Isip’s Toyota of Lewisville to better serve the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Toyota of Lewisville is one of the highest volume Toyota dealerships in Texas and followed upon his noteworthy and legendary success at Lute Riley Honda where he sold more than 700 cars in a month on several occasions as the General Manager of the dealership.
Rene’ Isip’s Toyota of Lewisville is known for being a high volume dealership, but Rene’ has found new inroads in the community and through technology to continue leading the industry in many varied facets. For one, Rene’s passion for sales events has helped Toyota of Lewisville earn national recognition for their hugely successful Toyotathon year-end sales event. With his foresight to give back to the community there’s little doubt that his customers will benefit from the next promotion that the merchandising guru takes to market. More than anything Isip believes in supporting and giving back to the community where his employees and customers live and work. In the midst of the economic downturn, Isip and the City of Lewisville negotiated a 10-year, $1.5 million partnership to maintain the city’s Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park. The park is a 269 acre facility with four baseball fields, four football fields and eight soccer fields in the heart of Lewisville, just outside Dallas.
The park also offers the community a scenic walking path and three man-made lakes to control flooding in the area. One of the main attractions is the Toyota of Lewisville Dog Park – allowing people to let their dogs off their leashes to enjoy the freedom to roam and play with other dogs.
Within the same facility, the Scion of Lewisville Skate Park is the second largest skate park in Texas. The 33,000 sq. ft. skate park is home to skate boarders and BMX bikers and offers a fun, safe environment for skaters all over the Dallas Ft. Worth area.
“I believe in the importance of participating and giving back to the community,” said Isip. “Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park just made to much sense to keep us connected with our community.”
Rene’ Isip opened his second dealership, Honda Cars of Katy, in November 2007. Honda Cars of Katy, located in Katy, Texas, is one of the highest volume Honda dealerships in Texas.

I just turned 27 on June 19th and I started my family early! I was married right after High-School graduation and had 2 kids. Elizabeth is 7 and Cameron is 3. I began working at Toyota of Lewisville as a service cashier and 1 year later jokingly offered to take a position as a service advisor and my boss took me up on my offer! Besides my TOL life- my other life is my kids!

The inside of your car’s engine is a hot, destructive place that must stay coated with oil and free of dirt and so it can run as cool and efficiently as possible. Engine oil is the cooler and cleaner of your engine. We all know oilburns and engines are hot. If you have ever seen burned oil in a test or experiment, you know it turns black and gets thick, which is called sludge.
If you depend on your car like most of us do, the one most important thing you can do is to make sure you have clean, fresh working oil that makes your car easier to start on cold winter days and run cooler and not over heat on hot summer days.
Here’s why you should change your oil or have someone else change it according to your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
Reasons to change your engine oil
It would be sad for your engine to blow up, seize, crack or bend a rod. That’s what can happen if you lose your oil. Your car isn’t worth very much if the engine is ruined.
Increase Lubrication
There are tons of small spaces and gaps inside your engine that must be lubricated or they cause friction, which causes parts to wear down. This wearing down is made worse by dirty oil that has sand or gravel chunks floating around. A grain of sand in the wrong place can cause scratching that ruins compression and cheats you on gas mileage.
Engine temperature
Your engine oil absorbs heat from the metal parts of the engine. Old, thick sludge does not efficiently take and disperse heat like new, fresh oil. A hot day in Texas can literally change the color of honey gold oil to black molasses-like thick, dead oil. If this happens too often and the oil is not changed, engine damage, like warping, can occur making the car run rough and even shake.
Filter gets clogged
Old, dirty or thick oil will not flow through the oil filter allowing it to remove trash, sand and metal shavings. Once the filter doesn’t work right the bad oil burnings from over-heated engine just gets worse, fast.
Removes engine sludge
Engine sludge is just old burned oil and it gets stuck in places in your engine that get very hot that can crystallize the sludge and cause it to never come out. When this happens you are getting very close to your engine seizing. If you would rather walk, go ahead, don’t change old oil. We just hope it’s not too cold or hot for you out there on the street.
Reduce friction
Friction causes the engine to run bad. The coating of fresh engine oil keeps the friction to a minimum and keeps the engine from creating heat due to the friction.
Here’s what you do
Have the oil changed according to the owner’s manual with the weight of oil recommended.
Keep good records.
Give your car a chance to warm up in the winter allowing cold oil to get to the top of the engine.
Keep the radiator clean from bugs and dirt and help you car run cooler.
Make sure the correct weight of oil is used.
Drive responsibly by not accelerating too fast and putting extra strain on your engine.
Of all the things you can do to protect the investment in your car, changing the engine oil is the cheapest protection against expensive repairs that you can do.
